Sasol, ENI Partner on SA Hydrocarbon Exploration
Energy and petrochemicals group Sasol Petroleum Intl has concluded a farm-out agreement with Italian multinational Eni for the exploration of hydrocarbon opportunities along the east coast of South Africa.

Transocean Marianas Wins PetroSA Job
It has been was reported that the Transocean Marianas rig has been booked for a gig in South Africa. The contract comes from the country’s state-run oil and gas firm PetroSA and is for a four-well program.

Kentz say Valerus Acquisition Strengthens its SA Shale-Energy Hand
The African region of engineering and construction group Kentz believes it is strongly positioned for any future shalegas extraction activity in South Africa, following the recent acquisition, by the London-listed group, of integrated oil and gas solutions provider Valerus, of the US.

New Floating Dock Commissioned at Port of Walvis Bay
Heavy engineering group DCD’s marine division has inaugurated a new floating dock at the Port of Walvis Bay, in Namibia, entrenching the country’s position in the West African coast ship repair market. The Namibian division of ship repair company Elgin Brown & Hamer (EBH), which was acquired by DCD in August 2012, was responsible for the establishment of the Panamax dock, which is EBH Namibia’s third floating dock.
